Peggy Bamford

Textile Designer & Consultant

Peggy lives and works in London. She recently graduated with a Masters Degree in Printed Textiles from the world-renowned Postgraduate art and design college, the Royal College of Art in London.

She now works as a Freelance textile designer and consultant. She consults and designs for various companies and individuals, being successful within the haute-couture fashion and interior markets as well as the automotive industry.

Peggy's work varies depending on who or what she is designing for. She is very good at adapting her style and design approach for each individual project brief, coming up with some fantastic designs and products well suited to the commissioner.

Her initial inspiration for her own work is the idea of movement and creating the illusion of the 3D on one surface. She researches into unusual materials, paper, fabric, plastic and glass, which are then manipulated using various print techniques, digital and screen processes.

She works with pleated fabrics and papers to create remarkable situations and interior pieces, ideal as installations for galleries, commercial or private interior spaces, as well as wraps and scarves for fashion.

Her materials research is also an on-going part of her work, benefiting her designs and products, potentially for the interior. She has been using a digital print process to print onto glass, which is then etched to create some interesting visual effects.
